Edo Schaefer

Edo Schaefer, MD graduated from the Tel Aviv Faculty of Medicine at Tel Aviv University. He completed his residency in Pediatrics at Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center and his fellowship in Pediatric Hematology, Oncology, and Stem Cell Transplantation at Westchester Medical Center. Dr. Schaefer joined the faculty at New York Medical College in 2022 and is currently an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Medicine within the Division of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology, and Bone Marrow Transplantation. He serves as Clinical Director of the Bone Marrow Failure Service, Director of the Gene Therapy Program, Director of the Hemoglobinopathy Clinic, and Co-Director of the Inborn Errors of Immunity Clinic. His clinical and translational interests focus on pediatric bone marrow failure, sickle cell disease, inborn errors of immunity, stem cell transplantation and cellular therapy, and infectious complications in immunocompromised children.
